On the beautiful Sunday of 28th March 2010 (from 8.30 am to 6 pm), the Lung Foundation of Malaysia (LFM) has successful organised a charity bazaar at the ZA Studio, Kampung Sungai Penchala, Jalan Damansara. The objectives of the event were to raise funds and create awareness of the public about LFM’s effort in lending a helping hand and provide significant hope for patients inflicted with various lung diseases. The event was supported by the Malaysian Thoracic Society (MTS), “Kelab Asma Kanak-kanak Wilayah Persekutuan dan Selangor”, “Persatuan Anak-Anak Pesakit Paru-Paru Hospital Kuala Lumpur” and many individuals.
A total of 26 stalls/tents were erected in the garden of the ZA studio where a wide range of household items, handicrafts, porcelains, paintings were showcased and sold. Delicious home-made food and beverages were put up for sale, while highly challenging games offered attractive prizes for those who dared to play and won. The proceeds from the sales were donated partly or wholly to the LFM. Eighteen of the stalls were sponsored by caring organisations and corporations and most of the stalls were run by family members and members of the LFM, MTS and the two children groups. About 500 people mostly from nearby housing area visited the bazaar and most seemed to enjoy the food, the shopping and the activities organised.
To add meaningful moments to the event, Y.Bhg Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi accompanied by his wife Tun Jean Abdullah came by to lend their support and mingle around with the crowd at the charity bazaar. The LFM made close to RM 50,000 from this charity event.
Thanks to all who supported us.
