Palliative Radiotherapy in the Era of Targeted and Immunotherapy

Lung cancer encompasses tumours of differing histological subtypes with varying immunological and molecular profiles. Current systemic therapy options have transformed outcomes and improved the survival of patients. Due to its efficacy in symptom control, radiotherapy remains a core component in the palliative management of lung cancer. The evidence for its use to treat symptomatic thoracic disease, brain metastasis and oligo-progression will be discussed.
